Running to the Top by Arthur Lydiard
Arthur Lydiard presents his techniques in middle and long distance running. His description of a systematic, detailed training program for beginners and top-runners is based on a clear defined conception of fitness. Beneath detailed schedules for the training, the book includes tips concerning equipment and outfit, nutrition, prevention of injury, therapy and the relationship between the coach and the athlete. Furthermore a test-system is introduced, which enables the athlete to determine the absorption of oxygen through the fatless body mass.
With proven success at the highest levels of Olympic competition as well as runners targeting their first 5k the Lydiard Method has consistently prepared runners to arrive at the starting line well prepared, healthy and ready to compete to the best of their ability. At Running Niche we provide free on the ground support through advice, encouragement and running groups to all people who sign up for the Lydiard Training plan via Running Wizard. Truthfully, we’ll provide free advice and encouragement to anyone who walks through our doors. We don’t make any money for our work with the Lydiard Method, all proceeds go towards the Running Wizard service.
